Plot Overview
Road House (1989) stars Patrick Swayze in one of the defining films of the 1980s, a neon-lit action extravaganza known for its riveting fight scenes and one of the coolest protagonists in American cinema. Set in Jasper, Missouri, the Double Deuce bar is a rough-and-tumble establishment where nightly fights break out, drugs are dealt, and the staff skims the profits. Enter James Dalton (Swayze), a professional cooler and martial artist hired as head of security. Dalton begins to clean up the joint by roundhouse kicking troublemakers and firing bartenders with sticky fingers. Soon, the Double Deuce transforms into the hottest club in town, but his actions stir the anger of Brad Wesley (Ben Gazzara), a ruthless local crime lord with a vice-like grip on Jasper.

With supporting performances by Sam Elliott, Kelly Lynch, and Ben Gazzara, Road House remains the undisputed champion of 80s action and ass-kicking cinema.
