SUMMARY
The film tells the true story of the rise and fall of London's most notorious gangsters, twins Reggie and Ronnie Kray, both played by Tom Hardy in a powerhouse double performance.
LEGEND is a powerful telling of a remarkable story, presented through the perspective of Frances Shea, Reggie's wife, played brilliantly by Emily Browning. Exploring the brothers' violent tendencies and complex relationship as they expand their criminal empire in the London underworld in the 1960s, Tom Hardy gives a lauded dual performance, portraying both the charming Reggie and his mentally unstable brother Ronnie.
Shot on location in London's East End in 2014, LEGEND is written and directed by American screenwriter, director and film producer Brian Helgeland, who wrote screenplays for films including LA Confidential, which earned him an Academy Award® for Best Adapted Screenplay, and Mystic River, earning him a second nomination for the Academy Award® for Best Adapted Screenplay. He also wrote and directed the films Payback, A Knight's Tale, 42, and Finestkind.
The upcoming release will include special extras, plus a 48-page perfect-bound booklet including an essay from Brian Helgeland, excerpts from the original production notes for the film, two posters and four art cards. In addition, fans will find an easter egg within the special Collector's Edition, as the design of the inner packaging is a recreation of the wallpaper that informs David Bailey's iconic portrait of the Krays where Reggie and Ron hold two of Ron's snakes.
